My name is Nadette, and I thank you for coming to my little space here. I migrated over from Neocities because I wanted a nice space that was minimal and to focus on my daily writing and random other little things I like doing. Also something that looked good both on a desktop and cell phone, even more so a flip phone which I use, and Bearblog was just what I've been looking for after searching forever it seems.
What is Dystopian Junk Mail?
The name came by because of my zine. I was watching a random youtube channel about the biggest mistakes in music history, and there was a thing with the whole U2's Songs of Innocence, and Apple incident on it's release date when it was stated that a music critic called the album that was forced on everyone's ipod (which couldn't be taken off) as 'like dystopian junk mail'. I loved the name and knew I had to do something with it, and was a bit bummed out that I couldn't change my site's name at the time. So it was the name of the zine I wanted to start (which I was itching to do as I used to make them back in the 90s) so that's why this is named what it's named.
What you will find here is each day I do a poem, and a timed flow of consciousness. The poem in the morning, and in the evening I do the flow of freewriting. I use and old 1966 Smith Corona Corsair 700 typewriter to do all my writing on. I upload a scan of the piece and the plain text at the bottom. At the end of the year, I offer a pdf and epub version of the year's writing in my site's meidafire folder you will find in the 'archive' link.
Also I have a little hobby of taking photos with a toy camera. My favorite being one that has a thermal printer inside it sort of like a Polaroid camera. 
Also I like making little comics, and dooling things. Also you will find copies of my one page zine I make every week and posted Monday morning.
I am a year round bike commuter, so I love anything with two wheels.
I'm a huge music fan and have a very eclectic taste in music, and I'll do a daily song shuffle in the coffee chat in the mornings. On the other site I would take my mp3 player and do a random shuffle for a song of the day. I think I'll also carry that over here.
I love campy SOV films, and experimental and arthouse films. That's right. I go from high brow and low brow with my films.
