Controlled fire and the Hair Police
Good morning. Still a heatwave happening here and dry weather, but the heatwave is starting to die off, and that fire that broke out has been held which is good, thanks to those probably very tired firefighters. Blessing to them.
So I'm having another day of ice coffee I made. Also my experiment of making my own incense cones seems to have worked. Burning a lavender one today. It works great! I watched a few youtube videos on them and gave it a shot and it's pretty easy to do. Just takes a few days to dry them out. I let them dry on the window sill and in this dry weather, it was the perfect spot. My lavender one is more straight than the other one I tried last night which had a bend, but it still burned. It was a fun project. I may do it again and document the process on here. However, to be honest, it is a bit of an effort, and cost me a little more than going down to shop and getting my usual pack of 120 mixed scents for $10. Also my homemade ones burn faster, but that could be my error. But overall it was a fun project.
Onto the song of the day now. The shuffle brought up Hair Police with their song Dilate And Inhabit.
I came upon this band just on my deep dives into Bandcamp bands. Which when I went to their page to link, it reminds me to get some more of their albums on there.
Have a great day everyone, and we'll be back as usual this evening with the freewriting piece. Which I find I've been struggling a bit with lately. Like I can't get into my flow when the timer starts. But that happens sometimes. You just have to keep writing daily. Also it's always a surprise sometimes what comes out. Which is why I thought to start blogging my exercises. Sometimes they come out interesting, and sometimes weird, and sometimes nonsensical, sometimes making sense. I never know where it's going to take me. It's like postcards from my subconscious.
Anyway, goodbye for real now, and I'll be back in the evening.
