Fire and Death In June

Good morning everyone.

So the ongoing heatwave is crazy, and now calling to extend it for the rest of the week. It's a huge one spanning so many provinces. Screenshot_2025-08-12_191738

So of course a fire broke out on the edge of the city. I was hoping my area would be spared but no. I live on the opposite end of the city, but still around a lot of wooded trails here which is concerning.

But safe so far.

Let's get on with the song of the day, which is on my other mp3 player. If I can talk about this little thing for a second. PXL_20250813_072112058

I bought this a while ago when I was getting away from streaming services. I figured, I have a huge music collection here why not just digitalize it, and get an mp3 player. I bought this as a cheap little $20 one I saw at this cheap electronics shop in the city and thought, why not. This holds 256mb of storage, way more than my sony which is 5, and it's not cheap feeling. It's got a bit of weight to it. I have tons of music on this even a couple of little videos, and have not even half way maxed the storage. It also, when paired with my audio technica bluetooth ear buds (yes this is actually blue tooth capable) it's got amazing sound, and if I ever want it, records songs off the radio. There's an interesting show on our local community radio who have interesting local artists on it, and I've recorded some in studio concerts from them on it. The only downside I can say, is it's touch screen and not physical buttons, but that's just my preference.

This is the back of it, so I can't even remember what the brand was called. Just one of those generic names in a plain white box from what I recall. Not bad for $20.

Anyway, onto the song shuffle of the day on this. PXL_20250813_072112058

The song is by the band Death In June, with the song Let the Wind Catch a Rainbow on Fire, off their album Operation Hummingbird.

That's it for me. I should get ready for work. Have a great day everyone and if you're in a fire zone where ever you are in the world, stay safe, and see you all this evening with the freewriting post.
