Dystopian Junk Mail

Site playlist, and Controlled Bleeding with coffee

Good morning everyone and hope you're having a great Wednesday. So yesterday I was thinking of making a dystopian Junk Mail playlist. I've thought about different options. I thought about a Spotify one, but I just can't, in all fiber of my being go back to spotify. They pay pennies to their artists, and also this reason. I used to love spotify a few years ago. Had the premium and was a constant user for a very long time. Once I first heard that they were shitty to artists and their spread of podcasts that had misinformation about the first wave of covid, I held my nose and contined using it, but this was the nail in the coffin for me. I can't listen to something on there, even with a free account and feel clean in my soul about it. You support a facist and a pedophile, I'm over it and any company who does. Don't get me started on Amazon as a company either. I first stopped using them because of their treatment of some workers in Quebec, and then the whole Trump thing, I would rather wait a week to get something from a independently run shop.

That rant aside, I do really love bandcamp and buy a lot of my music from there, then discogs if there's not an option for the band I'm looking for, or I love it so much I want a physical copy than just the mp3. However, a lot of my music is from my personal stash of records and casettes I've ripped to preserve and to play on the go, so a lot is not available on there.

So finally this is what I'm going to do. Where, to protect the name of the website, I've made a couple of various emails with the name to hold onto...for lack of better word "brand," though I hate that word, and do have a gmail account with it. So seeing how I have found a lot of songs on youtube, I'm going to create a channel and make a playlist of the songs that are featured on the song shuffles. It will be posted on the homepage for you to enjoy. If there isn't a video for it, I can, hopefully without issue, upload the song there, and stick some funny photo or something as the visual. Hey, since it's our morning coffee thing, maybe Funny Face Mug. He's kind of become the morning mascot. I'll upload him with a speech bubble saying something funny or weird. YEAH! I'm kind of excited for this now. I'll get started on it today.

Ok, that business aside, onto the song shuffle, and today, because my phone is nearly dead, here's good ol' trusty Blackie with the shuffle IMG_20250910_052525202

It's by Controlled Bleeding off their 1985 release Knees and Bones, with the song Horsemeat Yak Trip.

Here's their discogs

Have a great day and I'll post an update when the playlist is available.
