Thrift shop adventures NEW TYPEWRITER!
Good evening,
I returned from our thrift shop adventures today,
and found a number of fun stuff. I went to Value Villages, a Salvation Army, and something called Fran's Finds which also had a Guy Frenchie's behind it. THere was some cool stuff in there like this old film camera that I almost bought as it had unopened tapes in it. But left it for someone else as I really wouldn't have any need for it, and it would be hard to get the footage digitalized I think.
Next stop was a Salvation Army, first stop I went to a Great Canadian Dollar Store which I thought was defunct. I guess not.
I didn't buy anything in there. Just looked around and saw a few weirdos
And this drying rack which I almost bought.
In the Salvation Army across from it, I bought this cute cat tea light thing but I'm going to use it for incense cones. I have one burning in him now. A nice nag champa. My favorite.
I also saw this thing which I almost bought. xD
I really love the fact that someone actually made that for either themselves or someone.
Moving on, I then went into a value village in Mahone Bay, and found the BEST THING. In fact, I used it to type out the freewriting piece for this evening.
A Smith Corona XL 1900. Fully functional. Missing other daisywheels, but has a really nice one in there that gives this beautiful script. I think this is going to be my poetry one and my Consair for the freewriting, as the font on the 1900 is very nice. The ribbon works and everything is great. It's a little learning curve typing on it, as I've been so use to the Consair since the 90s. I keep wanting to press hard on the keys. So forgive the rough freewriting copy on it.
I also went to the Value Village on the way back home and didn't find much, but a few books and a Crass album. What I did find and didn't buy was HOME MADE GONKS! They're going in the jail as soon as I'm finished.
In the end, here was my haul. It was a great day out.
Sadly, no Funny Face mugs. But I will find more someday. I have faith they're out there somewhere. ~Nadette
